Spain 2016- Part 1 (Seville)

Hi and Assalamualaikum :) Peace be upon you Seville is the capital and the largest city in Andalusia (Southern Spain). It was founded by Romans, and Seville was known as Roman City of Hispalis In 7 th century, the Moors, Muslims from Africa conquered Seville. It was the capital for the Kings of Umayyad Caliphate. In order to become the city with organised administration, one city should have these 3 ‘pillars’ but my bad, I could only remembered 2 of them: 1) The place for worship purpose, 2)Palace. I got this info from Mr Aswad, the tour guide for this trip. As usual, the Muslims built mosque for them to pray and there’s Giralda. Islamic influences still remains. Giralda was originally built for by Muslims as minaret. Giralda is now part of the gothic-architecture of cathedral. It is remained as the bell tower of the cathedral. We arrived there pretty late that we cannot really witnessed the great design of Giralda. I (as usual) shot a few photos even though it could not be c...

My 22nd birthday

Image
Hi and Assalamualaikum guys :) It has been a while since the last time I updated my blog. It does not matter. I am always a busy person. Last week on Wednesday (5th October 2016) was my 22nd birthday. Yeay! Well, not really happy to accept that fact that I'm getting older :P As usual, like any typical birthday girl, I would get so excited to celebrate and fill the day up with meaningful and lively moments with my beloved ones. And again, I am always away from my family. They are all in Malaysia (some are abroad). So, I was really happy and excited to start a great day (even though I still have lectures and meetings need to be attended). Later in the afternoon, my friends and I have decided to go out for lunch and spend some good times together. We haven't gone out having any proper meal together since ages. One fun fact about my birthday is there must be any sudden, unexpected, sad thing or incident that would happen at some points of the day. never misse...

Scotland 2016 trip (3) Glasgow

Image
Hi and Assalamualaikum peeps :) So, today's post is about my last stop in Scotland, which is Glasgow. This city of Glasgow means a lot for me, do you know why? It is because this city and university was supposed to be my dad's university. He was supposed to attend this university back then :) I've copied from my fb post, I got no time to think about new words and sentence for my blog :P GLASGOW Yesterday was my last stop for this Scotland trip and all I could say is that day was the most meaningful day in my life. Being emotional and happy at the same. That offer letter dated in 1982 was my dad's entrance to University of Glasgow in Civil Engineering. I thought he's bluffing when he first told me that made up to enter Glasgow University but he didn't study there :) Until when i saw thi ... s in front of my eyes, I now believe that he's telling me the truth. Hahahhahaha. Back in 1982, he didn't enter Glasgow due to financial problems even ...

Scotland 2016 trip (2) Ben Nevis

Image
Hi and Assalamualaikum peeps :) For this Scotland trip, this is my day 4 in Scotland and we have rambling (Lake District) and hike (Arthur Seat). So, today is the biggest day in my life. I have double celebration. I have just found out that I passed my exam the day before and that day, I was overjoyed that I decided to hike the Ben Nevis, Fort William. BEN NEVIS, FORT WILLIAM I made up to the top of Ben Nevis :) it took me about 9 hours return. It is tough to be honest but it is even tougher to convince myself that i can make it happen. The negative thoughts of being unfit enough to hike the Ben Nevis, haunted me all this while. But i found a quote which move me forward, you need to love to do something that you hate to 😆 since that's the only way for you to challenge all your limits and capabilities. Believe it or not, my capabilities are beyond than expected. If the normal hikers take about 3.5 hours from the foothills up to the peak. I took about 4 hr 45 minutes....

Scotland 2016 trip (1) Arthur's seat, Edinburgh

Image
Hi and Assalamualaikum peeps :) This may be looked like an ordinary trip post. Since this is for my future references, so I want it to be a motivational post instead of the usual cliché post :) This post is the #throwback of my time in Edinburgh. To be honest, I just love this cityyyy, I cannot expressed it through words because it's more beyond words can explain :) ARTHUR'S SEAT I hiked up to the peak of Arthur seat hill, the main peak of Edinburgh. It only took about 1 hour and half to reach to the top. It's maybe a piece of cake for frequent hikers out there. But as for me, it's such a high achievement. I am not a frequent gym goer nor an active jogger to be honest. It relates to my life, being a slow learner is hard, tears always rolling down. Frankly speaking, I am not a high achiever in Bristol but i am proud of what ha ... ve I achieved. It may be not high enough for others but it doesn't matter, it is the effort that counts. Working ha...

Hi and Assalamualaikum peeps :) I am so sorry that today I need to write in Malay, my language. ahaks :) I don't fell like translating it to English, I don't know why. Get your malay friends to translate it if you are English or any other languages speaking :) Hari ni akuu bekerja sebagai salah seorang student guide bagi Bristol Open Day dan kerja aku mudah sahaja, hanya perlu menerangkan kenapa mereka, para pelajar baru patut belajar Biology di Bristol..

Cardiff Daytrip (1)

Image
Hi and Assalamualaikum peeps :) First of all, I am back in Bristol for my resit exam. haha. after I've finished with my exam, I decided to have a daytrip to Cardiff, since it is only 1 hour journey from Bristol. Yeah, i went there by train to Cardiff central. So, i first bought the map of Cardiff and I first went to the Bute Park. It is a nice park to have a picnic (during summer only since it's raining a lot in Wales) and have a nice evening jogging there. Here, I've attached a few interesting photos shot inside the Bute Park    Bute Park map Gorsedd Stones One interesting about the Gorsedd Stones is the 12 pillars represent the Weksh counties and the middle, flat pillar (known as Logan stone) serve as the platform. Then, I went to the ANIMAL WALL, it was one of the well-known feature of Cardiff. It was designed by William Burges for the 3rd Marquess of Bute. However, Burges died before even completed the project. The original were completed mor...
