Scotland 2016 trip (2) Ben Nevis
Hi and Assalamualaikum peeps :)
For this Scotland trip, this is my day 4 in Scotland and we have rambling (Lake District) and hike (Arthur Seat). So, today is the biggest day in my life. I have double celebration.
I have just found out that I passed my exam the day before and that day, I was overjoyed that I decided to hike the Ben Nevis, Fort William.
BEN NEVIS, FORT WILLIAM
I made up to the top of Ben Nevis :) it took me about 9 hours return. It is tough to be honest but it is even tougher to convince myself that i can make it happen. The negative thoughts of being unfit enough to hike the Ben Nevis, haunted me all this while. But i found a quote which move me forward, you need to love to do something that you hate to 😆 since that's the only way for you to challenge all your limits and capabilities.
Believe it or not, my capabilities are beyond than expected. If the normal hikers take about 3.5 hours from the foothills up to the peak. I took about 4 hr 45 minutes. Yeah, they are the experienced climbers whereas i am the beginner. To simplify it, I cannot compare somebody's Chapter 20 with my Chapter 1 😝. That 9 hours journey took me about 2.5l of water, sweats, half bar of chocolate, adapted with the cold weather and mist that limits our view.
When we almost reach to the top, the other climbers would approach us and say "Keep going, you are nearly there"...."you are almost there, it's only 10 minutes if you keep walking".... Well, sometimes those words motivate me to keep me going even though it's painful
If we look back to our life. The moment we decide our future, keep in mind that the path you will take, there will be lots of difficulty and pain. It requires everything that you have. The mind and body need to work together to make it happen. Being empty-minded and follow the flow are sometimes work 😉
If you feel like giving up, take a glance to the path you have taken, how far have you went, then you will realize how close you are to the 'peak'. Also, having someone to motivate you to keep going is a bonus. And now, I'm surviving another tough year in Bristol. Hope to find my 'peak' soon 😁😊
